Chapter 57 Signing the Contract
Chapter 57 Signing the Contract
Her skin was a strange pale purple, smooth and delicate, shimmering with a jade-like glow in the dim light of the valley.
Her face was so exquisite it was almost sculpted, with perfectly proportioned features, and she possessed a unique blend of exotic charm and ethereal beauty.
A pair of long, pointed ears peeked out from her silvery-white hair, trembling slightly, revealing her extreme unease.
Her figure was astonishingly tall and graceful. Even now, as she knelt on the ground, exhausted, one could still see that her legs, encased in tattered armor, were straight and long.
The armor itself is made of some kind of dark, metallic-looking leather and polished black bone plates. It is ingeniously designed, clings to the curves of the body, and perfectly outlines her full breasts, slender waist, and powerful hips and thighs.
However, the armor was now torn and damaged in several places, and the armor on the left shoulder was missing, revealing the smooth shoulder underneath and a hideous wound that was oozing pale purple liquid.
There were also obvious cracks on the nail plates on one side of the abdomen, and the nail plates on the arms and legs were covered with scratches and burn marks.
Tiny scratches and stains were scattered across her exposed, pale purple skin, with a noticeable bruise on her forehead.
However, this disheveled state did not diminish her beauty in the slightest. On the contrary, it was like a priceless treasure covered in the dust of war, arousing a desire to explore and cherish it—if one ignored the almost tangible fear, despair, vigilance, and a faint but tenacious will to survive that was etched in her eyes at this moment.
She clutched the wound on her abdomen with one hand, while supporting her weakened body with the other on the ground.
She was breathing heavily, her chest heaving, her head held high, her deep, violet eyes, which seemed to hold the stars, were fixed on Lin Tian and the terrifying staff in his hand that had just easily destroyed two groups of demons.
The air seemed to freeze. Only her suppressed, painful gasps and the crackling of the flames burning on the four hooves of the Blazing White Tiger remained.
Lin Tian didn't speak, but looked down at her, his gaze sweeping from her pointed ears across her pale purple skin, past the wounds, and finally settling on her purple eyes filled with complex emotions.
He still held the staff casually in his hand, but the invisible, life-or-death pressure was more suffocating than any roar.
A brief, suffocating silence spread through the tense atmosphere.
The white-haired, purple-skinned woman from the abyss seemed to have exhausted her last bit of strength; her voice grew increasingly weak, yet she still struggled to maintain clarity, each word uttered with labored gasps:
"Human... human powerhouse... please... please... spare us..."
"Oh?" Lin Tian didn't even raise an eyebrow, his voice so flat it betrayed no emotion. "Give me a reason. The Abyss and our human race are mortal enemies, locked in a life-or-death struggle."
Upon hearing this, Celia Moriarty lowered her head even further, her long, silvery hair obscuring her expression, leaving only a suffocating silence. The fingers she was pressing against her wound turned slightly white from the pressure.
Suddenly, she abruptly raised her head, her eyes flashing with a sharp light, as if she had made a decision. Her previously gentle gaze was replaced by a resolute one. She gently pursed her bloodless lips and clenched her teeth.
"A contract." The words she uttered trembled slightly, yet remained exceptionally clear. "I can sign a contract with you."
"A contract?" A faint, almost playful interest finally flashed in Lin Tian's eyes.
"Yes!" Celia cried out, as if grasping at a last straw, her voice urgent. "An equal pact! You help me take revenge, and I'll become your fighting partner!"
She added hastily, trying to increase her leverage: "My original talent was extremely powerful, far beyond your imagination! I'm only severely injured now, and my level and power have been forced to be sealed... As long as we find a way to recover, you will never regret your decision today!"
"You help me fight? I'll help you get revenge?" Lin Tian repeated, his tone unreadable, neither agreeing nor mocking.
"Yes!" Celia nodded vigorously, her purple eyes fixed on him, filled with a mixture of anticipation and despair.
"Help you get revenge? That's too much trouble." Lin Tian shook his head, his tone instantly turning cold, carrying an undeniable indifference. "In that case, goodbye."
Before he finished speaking, he casually raised his right hand, which was holding the staff, and instantly a blazing, violent, and terrifyingly compressed crimson fireball was formed at the top of the staff!
The surrounding air was distorted and deformed by the high temperature, and the aura of destruction locked onto the heavily injured succubus and her remaining guards below without any concealment.
He showed no mercy or pity whatsoever.
"etc!"
Celia screamed in terror, her pale purple face instantly losing all color. Overwhelmed by fear and despair, her beautiful purple eyes filled with tears, as if they would burst forth at any moment.
"I...I'm willing! I'm willing to sign the master-servant contract!"
The death threat hanging over her head completely shattered her last bit of composure and illusion.
"That's more like it." Lin Tian's tone remained calm, as if he had simply completed an expected transaction. The chillingly fiery red magical light at the tip of the staff quietly dissipated, as if it had never existed.
Celia gasped for breath, overwhelmed by a mixture of exhaustion from the ordeal and immense humiliation. She gazed up at the figure on the rocky ridge, tears finally streaming down her face, leaving clear streaks on her stained cheeks.
"Human powerhouse... To possess such power at this stage, you must have extremely strong talent..."
Her voice choked with sobs, yet she struggled to maintain her last shred of dignity, sustained by a deep-seated pride belonging to her former nobility. "I...I only ask that...if you become powerful enough in the future, perhaps...you could lend a helping hand..."
Her gaze held a humble plea, yet it also seemed to try to see through Lin Tian's calm exterior to his true thoughts.
A faint pang of reluctance, almost imperceptible to himself, flickered through Lin Tian's heart, but his face betrayed only a perfectly measured hint of impatience. He waved his hand, interrupting the other man: "We'll talk about the future later."
Celia stared at him intently, her purple eyes seeming to pierce through all pretense. After a moment, as if resigned, she uttered a barely audible, almost inaudible, "...Thank you."
Without further hesitation, she closed her eyes and began to chant an ancient and obscure incantation in a low voice. The voice was faint yet carried a strange rhythm, and the surrounding abyssal aura seemed to ripple slightly in response.
As she chanted, a scroll of contracts, shimmering with dark purple mysterious runes and composed of pure energy, appeared out of thin air and hovered in front of her.
Celia extended her slightly trembling fingers and painstakingly branded her true name—[Celia Moriarty]—in the lower right corner of the contract. After completing it, she seemed to have all her strength drained away; her fingers fell limply, and the energy contract slowly floated towards Lin Tian.
Lin Tian reached out and took it, his eyes quickly scanning the terms.
The content is simple yet demanding:
1. The master has absolute control, and the servant must unconditionally obey all instructions.
2. The servant shall not engage in any disobedient or aggressive behavior.
3. The validity period of the contract is entirely determined by the master party, and the servant party has no right to raise any objections.
......
The entire document is a blatant display of unequal treaties.
He looked away, and with a slight thought, branded his name—[Lin Tian]—in the designated spot on the contract.
As his name fell, the entire energy contract suddenly burst forth with dazzling light, then disintegrated into countless tiny, shimmering points of light, which scattered and danced like fireflies before quickly merging into the void and disappearing.
[Ding! Contract successfully signed!]
The system's notification sounded cold and precise in Lin Tian's mind.
Almost the instant the notification sound ended, the figure of Celia Moriarty standing below began to blur and become transparent, swaying slightly like a reflection in water, before finally disappearing completely from the spot.
Immediately afterwards, another notification sound rang out:
[Ding! You have obtained the pet [Celia Moriarty]!]
Lin Tian was slightly taken aback, then understood. Master-servant contract... so under the rules of this world, it was directly equivalent to a pet contract.
With a thought, he brought up his personal panel. Sure enough, in addition to the skill and equipment slots, a new [Pet] option had appeared.
With a hint of curiosity, he summoned Celia Moriarty again and opened her attribute panel to examine it carefully.
