Chapter 20, Tier 2 Beast Tower, Big Tiger
Chapter 20, Tier 2 Beast Tower, Big Tiger
[Little Tiger] can be promoted to the second tier [Big Tiger] by killing 1,000 enemies.
But they've been nothing more than decorations since they were built, and they haven't killed a single enemy.
This time they finally had a chance to shine, but only the little tiger at the very front stole the show.
The wasteland spiders that were walking along the side were all swatted down by the little tiger at the front with its claws. One claw per second, one kill per second, not a single monster escaped.
The Wasteland Spider's death animation is a backflip, where it flips its belly up and makes a "poof" sound. Its corpse will respawn and disappear in less than half a second.
The little tigers, located two meters away in the War Corridor, were right next to their companions, but they just meowed and couldn't hit a single wasteland spider.
The little sea turtle and the little yellow duck following the little tiger were even more frustrated, and they were so anxious that they kept running around in circles.
If we consider the wasteland spiders as ten columns, then the two "little tigers" would easily take over the two outermost columns.
The remaining eight columns of wasteland spiders soon faced an attack from the [Little Green Snake].
The Little Green Snake's single-target poison damage is very powerful, with a maximum DPS of 12. However, when fighting Wasteland Spiders, much of the damage is wasted, as the poison damage has no chance to be effective. Its attack speed is 0.5, so it attacks once every two seconds and kills one spider every two seconds. It prioritizes attacking Wasteland Spiders in front of it. If you want to calculate the actual DPS, it is only 1.5.
After killing 10 wasteland spiders, some monsters were missed.
The two porcupines behind them were doing quite well at this point, firing their bristles rapidly, causing the wasteland spider in front to fall over in response.
Thus, less than six out of ten wasteland spiders can crawl out of the range of the [Porcupine]'s shot.
These wasteland spiders quickly entered the range of the Bubble Turtles' attacks. The two Bubble Turtles attacked at the same time, and the water bubbles bounced up very powerfully. In an instant, six wasteland spiders would perform backflips together.
Unlike regular invading monsters, which drop nothing when killed in waves, wasteland spiders do drop items.
If they make a crisp "ding" sound when they roll over and die, it means that something has fallen.
Loot was quickly obtained in front of the two attacking tiger cubs, and other items soon followed suit in other parts of the War Corridor.
However, Lei Chi is currently unable to come over to pick it up or examine it.
About three minutes after the Wasteland Spiders invaded, a few scattered Wasteland Spiders finally crawled out of the War Corridor and entered the camp square.
"I have been waiting for a long time; who will challenge me to three hundred rounds of battle!"
With a loud shout, Lei Chi rode his fighting rooster, wielding a skillful pickaxe, and charged towards the first wasteland spider that crawled into the camp square like a fierce general.
The other fighting chickens were acting silly; some proudly stood on one leg, some flapped their wings, and some crowed loudly.
Although they are called "fighting chickens", their fighting mechanism is really bad. Like wild monsters, they have a warning range, which seems to be only three meters. So they ignore the wasteland spiders that are more than three meters away from them. Only when the wasteland spiders come within three meters of them will they take the initiative to attack, which is to peck at them with their sharp beaks.
Even so, the few wasteland spiders that swarmed into the camp square were not enough to kill.
This invasion of the wasteland spiders was easier than Lei Chi had imagined.
A moment later, all ten thousand wasteland spiders spawned, and immediately a system notification sounded in Lei Chi's mind: "Ding, congratulations, your Tier 1 Beast Tower [Little Tiger] has accumulated over one thousand kills and has automatically upgraded to Tier 2 Beast Tower [Big Tiger]!"
"Ding, congratulations, your..."
The same system notification sounded twice, and the two tiger cubs at the beginning of the War Corridor flashed with light at the same time. Their bodies immediately grew larger, and they let out a howling roar, transforming into large tigers with yellow and black striped fur, nearly two meters long and nearly one and a half meters tall.
As they grew larger, they also took up more space, squeezing the "little tiger," "little sea turtle," and "little yellow duck" behind them, forcing them to move back a meter.
Lei Chi couldn't care less about killing the spider at this moment. He quickly brought up the camp information panel and found the attribute information of the [Big Tiger].

Tower Name: Big Tiger
Area: 2m x 2m
Type: Beast Tower
Order: Second order
Attack: 50
Attack type: Physical
Attack range: Melee (1 meters)
Attack speed: 1.0 (once per second)
Standard attack method: Right claw strike
Attack Effect: [Double Strike] When the tiger attacks a target, there is a 15% chance to launch a double strike. The tiger's body shakes, and it attacks the same target with its left and right claws in succession within one second, with each attack dealing full damage.
Attack Effect: [Throat Lock] The tiger pounces on a nearby unit, biting its throat to suppress the target and prevent it from moving. The target loses 50 health points per second. The throat lock lasts for a maximum of 20 seconds, during which the tiger cannot perform normal attacks.
Attack Effect: [Tiger Roar] The tiger roars, causing surrounding enemy units to tremble in fear, reducing their attack power and movement speed by 30%. The effect radius is ten meters, and the duration is ten seconds. The tiger's roar has a two-second cooldown, and it can only be used once per minute.
Note: The tiger has growth potential. After unlocking the hidden technology [Ancient Bloodline] in the Beast Tower and using a [Wild Gem], it can grow into a Tier 3 defense tower [Sabertooth Tiger].

"Good heavens, this big tiger is so strong, it's more than ten times stronger than the little tiger. One chokehold and players below level ten are dead."
Lei Chi also noticed the growth description in the [Big Tiger]'s attribute information, and couldn't help but ponder silently: "[Ancient Bloodline]? There's hidden technology too? How do I unlock it? Can the Big Tiger grow into a saber-toothed tiger? What attributes does a Tier 3 saber-toothed tiger have? Can it grow again?"
He suddenly found the Beast Tower quite interesting, and thought it might become very powerful later on.
Moments later, all the wasteland spiders were killed, and the War Corridor was filled with dropped items, including spider silk, spider fangs, spider legs, spider venom, and so on.
These dropped items are the rewards for defeating the summoned invasion; there are no additional rewards from the system.
Lei Chi ordered the orc laborers to collect the loot, then checked the camp information panel himself.
A Tier 2 defense tower can provide 10 defense points to a secret camp. Now that there are two Tier 2 [Big Tigers] in the secret camp of Thunder Pool, the camp's defense index has directly exceeded 30 points!
In addition, Lei Chi noticed that the two [Porcupines] had accumulated 1060 and 1061 kills respectively, but they needed to kill 10,000 enemies to advance to the next level, which was still a long way off.
Actually, the Little Turtle is the easiest to grow; you just need to accumulate 100 kills. Unfortunately, with its weak attack power, it's not easy to accumulate 100 kills.
