Chapter 92: Starting the Team
Chapter 92: Starting the Team
"As for IG, there were some problems in the bottom lane in both of these games."
Rita chimed in, "During the laning phase, I think IG needs to train harder after they go back and find their form."
......
"They just lost 2-0 like that."
In the IG training room, after watching both matches, TheShy felt very depressed.
Despite playing well in all lanes, some inexplicable small mistakes put the team at a disadvantage.
He finally understood why there were so many angry comments from fans after some matches ended.
It turns out that playing a game from God's perspective is a completely different matter.
From God's perspective, many viewers aren't watching the game with logic in mind.
"Hiss...whoosh!"
"Our bot lane's performance was indeed problematic today. Our bot lane's laning strength is arguably one of the best in the LPL. Even against a peak Imp, I think we could put up a fight."
Chen Song said calmly.
......
As the battle anthem played on stage, the JDG players walked one after another towards the IG players' seats.
Leading the way were Green Hair and Imp, with Imp bowing and shaking hands, his face still savoring the match they had just played.
Yagao remained calm, his face showing little expression.
Flawless looks quite similar to Yagao.
Zoom is the same way; perhaps it's because his opponent today is TheShy that he's so excited.
Several people stood in front of the main stage, with Imp standing tall and looking down from above.
As the champion AD in Season 4, imp has his own pride, and this pride has not faded with time.
He stands here to tell the world that although he, Imp, is a veteran, his performance has not declined.
He wants to show everyone in his own way that he is still a world-class AD carry.
After winning the S4 World Championship, imp's professional career did not go smoothly.
But he persisted, just to prove it to everyone.
He stood on the final stage of the Spring Split, but the Spring Split championship trophy that should have belonged to him was taken away by IG.
He has now successfully avenged himself on his own stage.
After the five men stood in a row and bowed to the audience, they returned to their seats to pack up their equipment.
Apart from Green Hair, who stayed on stage for an interview, the other contestants returned to the contestant lounge one after another.
……
As the losers, IG did not stay here any longer and immediately packed their bags and returned to Shanghai.
The bus stopped at the entrance of the base; it was already very late at night.
Duke got out of the car, his face expressionless, revealing little emotion. He had given his all in both games, but the loss in the bottom lane had handed the victory to his opponent.
Karam followed in the middle of the group as they entered the base.
The training room was brightly lit, awaiting the return of the athletes.
Chen Song and TheShy sat in chairs, with the match replay playing on their computer screens.
Karam put down his backpack and glanced around: "Debriefing!"
"Don't rush into a post-mortem analysis."
Chen Song stood up, his voice strong and clear: "The most urgent thing right now is not to waste time on matches that have already passed. There are only five days left until the Intercontinental Championship. Our focus now is on the Intercontinental Championship."
Karam frowned and retorted, "Chen Song, I'm the head coach of this team. Whether or not to review the game, and when to review it, is up to me. You're ultimately just a tactical analyst. I think you should understand the basic team management discipline, right?"
Chen Song didn't back down. Instead, he took a step forward. He was half a head shorter than Karam, but standing in front of Karam, his back was ramrod straight, and his gaze was like a knife: "Head coach? You still know you're the head coach? Don't you want to take a look at your coaching record since the start of the Summer Split?"
"Karam, I'm not going to argue with you. The Intercontinental Cup is only a few days away, and we're facing top LCK teams. What's the point of spending the whole night reviewing a game we've already lost, other than demoralizing the players?"
"The purpose of a debriefing is to identify problems," Karam said, raising his voice.
"Have you found and resolved the problems from the previous review?" Chen Song slammed his hand on the whiteboard, the echo reverberating in the training room. "You keep saying that the purpose of the review is to find problems, but I haven't seen you find any. All you ever think about are those same things, being led by the nose."
JackeyLove and Baolan sat in their seats without saying a word. They didn't understand what Chen Song and Karam were arguing about, but they could tell from their tone that the two were having a heated argument.
Karam's face flushed red. He took a deep breath, took out a contract from his bag, and slammed it on the table: "Chen Song, look carefully. This is the head coach contract I signed with IG Club. It clearly states in black and white that the head coach has the final say on tactics, draft picks, training arrangements, and team leadership in matches."
"You're just a tactical analyst; your job is to report to me and offer advice. Now, please cooperate with me, sit down, and review the situation!"
The training room was completely silent.
The contract was just laid out on the table.
"contract?"
Chen Song repeated it softly, then his voice suddenly rose: "I signed a contract with your brother, and you still have the nerve to mention contracts? Karam, I'm asking you, don't you have any idea why the team's performance fluctuated in the early stages of the Summer Split?"
"The tactical system is chaotic, the post-match reviews are getting longer and longer but less efficient, the players are training without any direction, and you, Karam, you useless coach, instead of looking for the reasons within yourself, all you do is spout this contract theory. If I were as useless as you, I would have packed my bags and left long ago."
These words came like a barrage of bullets, leaving Karam stunned and speechless.
TheShy glanced up furtively, then quickly looked down again.
Karam's face flushed, and he clenched his fists, lowering his voice: "Chen Song, let me tell you, no matter what you say today, the contract is still in my hands. If you're not satisfied, you can go to management, but until management makes changes, I'm in charge of this training room. If you disobey again, I'll have to apply to the club..."
"Apply for what?"
A voice came casually from the training room door. It wasn't loud, but it carried a natural nonchalance and a condescending tone.
Everyone turned their heads at the same time.
Wang Sicong stood at the door, wearing a white short-sleeved shirt and holding a cup of milk tea. Su Xiaoluo, who was standing next to him, looked a little embarrassed.
Nobody knows when Wang Sicong arrived or how much he overheard.
"Principal Wang..." Karam's arrogant voice instantly dropped three degrees.
Wang Sicong walked into the training room, glanced around, and finally his gaze fell on the open contract on the table.
He picked up the contract, casually flipped through a couple of pages, and glanced at it lightly as if it were scrap paper.
Then he tossed the contract onto the table, turned to Karam, and said in a flat tone, "Who are you trying to scare with this contract?"
Wang Sicong turned and glanced at Chen Song again.
After understanding, Chen Song, acting as the translator, explained it to Karam.
Karam's Adam's apple bobbed: "Principal Wang, I'm fulfilling my duties as head coach."
"Fulfilling your duties?" Wang Sicong found a chair, sat down, took a sip of his milk tea, and slowly interrupted him: "Does fulfilling your duties mean leading the team to lose the game?"
