Chapter 8 The Transfer Is Imminent
Chapter 8 The Transfer Is Imminent
On the edge of the rooftop, two new players were frantically shaking the water pipes and shouting hysterically:
"Quick! Find something to dismantle it; we absolutely cannot let the people down below come up again!"
In their struggle for survival, they set their sights on the steel pipe in Scarface's hand and asked to borrow it:
"Brothers, we need your help in an emergency! Lend us your iron rods!"
Scarface and his gang of thugs had strange expressions.
Are these people really blind or just not smart enough?
Having just been beaten to a pulp by Chen Yang, someone actually dares to come and borrow a weapon?
"What's all the noise about?"
Chen Yang frowned as he walked out of the shelter. The thugs, who had been so arrogant, instantly scurried back like mice seeing a cat.
The two men then realized who the real boss was and quickly put on smiling, ingratiating expressions.
"Brother, let me be clear: supplies in this building are limited. If we let any more people up, everyone will starve. If we want to survive, we have to cut off their supply lines!"
Upon hearing this, the entire room fell silent.
Wang Lei and his two companions looked ashen-faced; this blatant display of the law of the jungle made them extremely uncomfortable.
Even Scarface was stunned, thinking to himself, "I've never thought of killing everyone in my life."
Chen Yang, however, remained expressionless.
Having crawled out of piles of corpses in northern Myanmar, he looked at these two people as if they were a few wild beasts struggling for survival.
"You can handle it yourselves."
Chen Yang, too lazy to waste words, casually tossed the steel pipe to Wang Lei and turned to crawl into the shelter to study his [negative entropy state].
As soon as Chen Yang left, Wang Lei and Wu Xia immediately blocked the path leading to the rooftop.
"We won't do anything that goes against our conscience!" Wu Xia sneered.
"Holy Mother! What time is it and you're still pretending?"
The young man stamped his feet in frustration, pointing downstairs and yelling, "If we let them up, we might not even survive the night!"
The two groups argued fiercely, until finally Scarface spat and cursed at the two men, giving them a piece of his mind:
"Even fishermen know not to use nets that kill off their catch. You guys are worse than animals at doing this."
Despite being turned away, the two did not give up.
Shortly afterward, when someone climbed up the water pipe to ask for help, they still kicked the person in the face without hesitation.
With a scream, the person fell into the torrent and disappeared instantly.
Wang Lei and his group witnessed all of this, and although they felt disgusted, they ultimately did not intervene.
That's human nature: they talk about principles, but what they actually do is business.
They saw the trio indiscriminately killing innocent people, but not one of them actually offered a helping hand.

As night fell, Chen Yang stood on the edge of the rooftop, holding a torch, his gaze growing increasingly somber.
"Something's wrong, the water level is rising too fast."
He rushed down the stairs, violently breaking down doors all the way to the 28th floor.
The moment the iron gate was pushed open, the icy floodwaters had already reached the bottom of the 29th floor.
Chen Yang's heart sank. According to his calculations, the water level should have reached the 27th floor at most tonight, but it had exceeded that by a full two floors.
If this rate continues, the building won't last until the seventh day; it will be completely swallowed up.
This was potentially devastating bad news for him.
Chen Yang took a deep breath and plunged into the murky floodwaters.
Underwater visibility was extremely poor, so he followed the stairs to the iron gate on the 28th floor.
Several lifeless corpses floated by the door, and a deformed crowbar was stuck in the lock.
Clearly, these victims had desperately tried to survive, but ultimately failed to pry open the door to death.
Chen Yang didn't have time for sentimentality.
He quickly confirmed a fatal fact: the water level was rising twice as fast as expected.
At this rate, holding out on the rooftop won't last until the seventh day.
Even though his current physical condition is as high as 54 points, hypothermia is still a threat if he stays in the water for a long time.
However, Chen Yang thought again that under the [negative entropy state], even if one gets sick and damaged, it will most likely be converted into an improvement in physical fitness.
With this in mind, he felt more confident, but that didn't mean he intended to sit idly by and wait for his doom.
Chen Yang surfaced and returned to the top floor.
At this moment, Wang Lei was guarding the stairwell.
Although the survivors were mostly gathered on the rooftop, Wang Lei and his two companions decided to take turns keeping watch to guard against the possible presence of Lao Liu.
More importantly, Chen Yang's superhuman physical abilities aroused Wang Lei's vigilance.
This strength is definitely not something that can be achieved by simply stacking up the initial 10 attribute points.
"Brother Chen, what were you doing down there?" Wang Lei asked tentatively.
"Nothing much, just checking if any supplies were missed," Chen Yang replied casually.
Wang Lei stared at him and asked again, "There was quite a commotion just now. Did you break down the iron gate on the 31st floor?"
"It's open. Is there a problem?" Chen Yang glanced at him coldly.
"No... just asking." Wang Lei shook his head, looked away, and said nothing more.
Chen Yang was aware that Wang Lei had become distant from him, but he didn't care.
Whether Wang Lei can survive this dungeon is still uncertain, and the attitude of a dead man is worthless.
He rummaged through the furniture piled on the top shelf, hoping to find a decent little boat, but to no avail.
"Does this mean I really have to soak in the water for days?" Chen Yang frowned, a sense of irritation rising in his heart.
House seemingly endless rain.
The sky suddenly changed, and a torrential downpour began, the dense raindrops hitting the skin with a stinging pain.
"Damn! What kind of beginner dungeon is this? Is this rain going to kill people?"
Complaints rose and fell on the rooftop as the survivors scrambled back into shelter.
Chen Yang ignored these people. He did not enter the shelter, but instead climbed directly to the top of the attic in the stairwell.
Standing at the highest point of the building and looking into the distance, only three buildings remain above water.
Based on the player survival rate, it's estimated that there are about thirty starving neighbors squatting in each of the two buildings across the street.
Chen Yang keenly noticed that the three remaining buildings were not of the same height.
One of the buildings stood out from the others, towering over the other two.
Chen Yang immediately had an idea. Since the water level was out of control, that building would be a safer place to stay, which could greatly reduce the time spent in the water in the future.
He vaguely remembered that the tough girl who climbed the building with her bare hands during the day seemed to be in that high-rise building.
However, neither beauty nor skilled fighters were his main concerns; survival was the only important thing.
After weighing his options, Chen Yang decided not to swim across in the rain immediately.
He decided to stay put and observe for the night, conserve his energy, and make further plans at dawn.
Chen Yang jumped down from the attic and turned to crawl into the shelter.
When he came in, apart from the three greenhorns who had never experienced his methods, everyone else looked at him as if they had seen a plague god.
They hurriedly averted their gaze, instinctively backing away in unison, afraid that even a second glance would invite a beating from Chen Yang.
Faced with everyone's reaction as if they were avoiding a plague, Chen Yang was speechless and simply ignored them.
He went straight back to the sofa, found a comfortable position, closed his eyes, and fell asleep.
A night passes in the blink of an eye.
Chen Yang was awakened by the blinding morning light. As soon as he opened his eyes, he realized that something was wrong.
Wang Lei and his two companions were confronting the three new young men. The atmosphere was tense, and a conflict was imminent.
