Chapter 009: The Four-Armed God Emperor
Chapter 009: The Four-Armed God Emperor
Just when Dejan thought he was going to be locked up all the way to Gondor, Claire brought good news.
"Has His Excellency Koren invited you to dinner?"
Deyang was flattered and jumped up with a somersault.
"What's going on? Could this be the Last Supper?"
"It doesn't seem like it. You'll see when you get there."
"Okay, as long as I can get out of this awful place." Dejan happily headed off, unaware of Claire's subtle expression.
Banquet hall.
The crystal chandelier cast a warm light, giving the dazzling array of food a caramel-colored hue.
The air was filled with the fragrance of flowers and food.
Elijah Corren nodded and stood by the table, opening his arms in welcome.
"Mr. Dejan Davent, please allow me to address you as such."
The matter has been investigated and clarified.
The Dawn has been found, just as you said.
It seems I misunderstood you.
Looking at the composed gentleman with a reserved smile across from him, Deyang felt uneasy, though he couldn't quite put his finger on why.
Offering unsolicited favors is either a sign of malice or theft.
What's wrong with this guy?
"You're too kind, I understand your actions," Dejan nodded in response.
Dinner began in a friendly atmosphere.
As a wandering merchant, Elijah adopted a very humble attitude.
The conversation at the dinner table revolved around introducing the food and sharing legendary experiences.
Deyang listened quietly, offering emotional support from time to time.
He really enjoyed the alien food.
While others were smoking rahoons, munching on protein bars, and risking their lives against all sorts of aliens in the trenches, he was sitting on the flagship of a merchant ronin, enjoying delicacies that only high lords could afford.
For a moment, Deyan was in a daze, until he noticed the subhuman maid waiting beside him out of the corner of his eye.
The cat ears are bouncy and the fox tail is fluffy.
The maid dress features a low-cut design, and the lace trim cannot hide her enviable figure. The skirt hem, which reaches just below her hips, reveals legs that seem longer than most people's.
Deyang couldn't help but glance at it a few more times, his mind wandering.
Since the Dawn incident, his threshold for desire has been getting lower and lower.
It started to feel astringent before I was full.
It's all because of Slut.
All sorts of people, after being battered by sin, become lewd people.
Elijah, sitting opposite him, smiled knowingly at the sight.
Realizing he had lost his composure, Dejan awkwardly rubbed his nose.
"Please excuse my poor performance."
"It's alright, it's normal." Elijah, acting as a caring elder, expressed his understanding, "Humans are born with a strong desire to live."
Having desires is a good thing; desires have driven humanity to develop to where it is today.
A race that has no desires and no ambitions, and lives a life of peace and tranquility, is destined to perish. What do you think?
Before he transmigrated, Dejan might have agreed with these words, but now he dared not agree, and even the way he looked at Elijah was strange.
It's like watching a Slaanesh follower, isn't it?
Nobles are a major source of Slaanesh's fans.
"I don't really understand; I'm not at that level yet."
"You'll understand later." Elijah smiled, picked up his glass, and walked over to Deyan. "Worldly love between men and women, the instinctive intercourse for the purpose of procreation, is low-class, vulgar, and utterly devoid of beauty."
As he spoke, Elijah quietly moved closer, placing his left hand ambiguously on Deyan's shoulder, the meaning of which was self-evident.
A chill ran from his tailbone straight to the top of his head. Deyang suddenly stood up, swung his arm, and slapped him across the face.
"Snapped!"
The resounding slap echoed through the empty banquet hall.
Elijah staggered from the slap, and five finger marks instantly appeared on half of his cheek.
But instead of getting angry, he seemed to enjoy it, with a smug look on his face.
"It's rough, I like it."
Dejan was so disgusted that he took several steps back.
He had considered that the other party might see his extraordinary talent and see him as a prodigy who could revive the empire, and therefore intended to cultivate him as a key talent.
It turned out that the other party didn't want to lead him through the back door, but rather wanted to use his back door.
Pooh!
Sila's lackey!
Old gay man, masochist!
"You disgust me, really."
Elijah stared intently at Dejan, his breathing becoming hot. "I'm just stating a fact."
Deyang rolled his eyes so hard they seemed to have traveled to outer space.
People can actually laugh when they're speechless.
"Please have some self-respect, Your Excellency Corren."
Seeing Deyan's resistance, Elijah sighed regretfully and regained his usual composure.
"Young man, you have rejected the opportunity for upward mobility. Rejecting me will come at a price."
Dejan was truly at a loss when faced with such a freak.
Hitting or scolding won't work.
Elijah won't change, he'll just enjoy it.
Dinner ended unhappily.
Dejan was locked up again, complaining that Claire wasn't loyal enough.
"We're supposed to be friends, yet you're pushing me into a fire pit."
Claire couldn't help but chuckle. "I'm just a bodyguard, what right do I have to say anything?"
"At least remind me." Dejan looked resentful, feeling nauseous at the thought of Elijah's face.
That was close; it almost became even more difficult.
Seeing Dejan's discomfiture, Claire laughed even harder, seemingly possessed by the evil spirit of Pleasant Goat.
"I did warn you, but you didn't notice. Besides, I thought you would be happy about it; it's not considered strange among you humans."
Sensing Claire's sarcastic tone, Dejan retorted as if she had poisoned her lips: "When it comes to the bizarre, who can compare to you Eldar? You collectively indulge in lewdness and ruined an entire Galactic Empire."
Lies have no effect on business; the truth is the sharpest weapon.
Claire's smile froze on her face, and she turned and left as if she had never met her before.
"You've already broken through her defenses?"
Watching Claire's retreating figure, Dejan felt much better.
Sure enough, bad moods don't disappear; they just shift.
A few days later, the fleet arrived in Gondor.
Dejan's worst fears did not materialize.
Elijah did not hand him over to the court of judgment, but instead threw him into the Buto mines to work as a miner.
After a day of mining, Deyang lay in the mine shaft, gazing at the water seeping down the pit walls, and couldn't help but reminisce about his 996 work schedule from his previous life.
Compared to this, 996 is truly a blessing.
The mining area was hot and humid, and filled with harmful radiation.
Working 16 hours a day, eating inferior starch paste mixed with sand and the corpses of unknown beetles, and sleeping in dripping mine pits at night, Dejan felt like dying. He silently cursed Elijah's ancestors for eighteen generations.
"I'll hang you from a streetlamp sooner or later!"
"No, we have to find a way to escape. Staying here is a dead end."
The roar of patrol vehicles echoed outside the mine.
Seeing the fleeting servo skull and the Heartsteel symbol lit up in the patrol team, Dejan realized how difficult it would be to escape.
Over the next few days, whenever he had free time, he would investigate the mining area and gradually figure out the division of the mine's security forces.
The Buto mine is heavily guarded.
The outermost layer is an alloy wall that is 10 meters high.
It is equipped with high-voltage electric barbed wire and automatic turrets.
Patrol every hour.
The middle floor is the living area.
Foremen and mine guards were equipped with automatic rifles, shotguns, grenade launchers…
Deep in the mining area stood a simple shack made of welded rusted iron plates, with a mechanical instructor's gear emblem hanging at the entrance.
It is home to a low-level mechanical priest and two servo skulls.
The only connection to the outside world is a high-speed transportation pipeline linking the mining area with the outer spaceport.
The pipeline entrance is located behind the control tower and is locked by a heavy explosion-proof gate, which is equipped with iris scanning and a physical lock.
It's difficult to escape from this place.
While mining, Deyan was thinking about his escape plan, and his hands unconsciously stopped moving.
In stark contrast is the demi-human next to him with feathers growing from his ribs.
This guy was working with great enthusiasm, swinging his pickaxe incredibly fast; anyone who didn't know better would think he was mining for his own family.
Dejan kindly reminded him, "Dude, if you keep doing this, your health will break down very quickly."
"It's alright, as long as I work hard enough, the Four-Armed God Emperor will save me."
Deyang was stunned, staring blankly at the birdman.
"How many...how many-armed God-Emperor?"
