Chapter 027: What is a Weeper?

Chapter 027: What is a Weeper?

Malakin stared intently at Elijah Koren's hypocritical smile, his eyes blazing with murderous intent. He drew his sword, the tip of the holy sword hovering over Elijah's Adam's apple.

"Traitor, coward!"

Once at Hestia's Nest, and again at Buto's Mine, your cowardice is despicable!

Elijah took a half step back, his smile unchanged.

"Commander Malakin, I know you have misunderstood me. When the team was scattered, I had no choice but to go. The aliens were too powerful."

"Shut up!" Malakin's voice, coming through the voice changer, was so cold it could freeze the air. "Where are Inquisitor Alonso and the Death Watch Squad?"

Elijah sighed and spread his hands.

"Unfortunately, I also did not see Judge Alonso; perhaps he has already returned to the Emperor's embrace."

Malakin stepped forward, his heavy footsteps echoing through the silent passage, creating an oppressive atmosphere.

"Relinquish command of the troops and prove your loyalty with actions, or once this matter is over, I swear in the name of Saint Gillespie that I will hold you accountable for your crimes!"

"As you wish, Chapter Master Malakin Foros." Elijah bowed and waved his hand in greeting, his demeanor displaying the elegance and composure of an old money.

Deyang saw this and almost delivered an Emperor Flying Kick.

Elijah's credit rating is so low that even a shared bicycle can't be scanned.

Why waste words with him? Just shoot him.

However, noticing the family guards following Elijah, who, despite suffering heavy losses, still maintained their fighting strength, Dejan understood the actions of the Malakin Warband Commander.

He watched the argument with a cold eye, but a sense of unease began to creep into his mind.

Elijah, a mere mortal, has survived to this day in the perilous Tomb of the Dead. Even with a strong guard, it's still a bit of an overreaction, isn't it?

Or perhaps he was already quite strong in combat.

It's normal for wealthy people to equip themselves with high-tech gadgets.

Dejan quietly turned to the side and asked Claire in a low voice, "How's Elijah's fighting ability?"

Claire leaned down and whispered in response, "I've never seen him fight, but the equipment he carries is pretty good stuff."

After Claire's reminder, Dejan carefully examined Elijah's equipment.

The breastplate inlaid with what appeared to be a luminous blue soul stone and the runic sword engraved with star patterns clearly did not conform to the aesthetic style of the Human Empire.

It's going to take a long time, and it looks very strong.

Deyang was wary.

God knows how much deadly cutting-edge technology is hidden in those antique equipment.

Having secured command of the Koren Guard, Malakin stopped wasting time and assembled his troops to search for the deep, stagnant chamber that sealed the fragments of the Star God.

Passing through a long corridor strewn with signs of battle and molten metal, they burst into a massive ceremonial hall.

A fierce battle came into Deyang's view.

A Chaos Astartes, clad in the Ironclad Terminator power armor, leads his Chaos army in a fierce battle against the undead.

The Black Flame Power Halberd collided with the Dark Green Phase Blade, explosive bombs slammed into the living metal, and psionic lightning and Gaussian beams intertwined.

Dejan's gaze was drawn to the Chaos Astartes who was fighting the Scorpion Lord Hayek, or more precisely, to the Terminator power armor the guy was wearing.

Although covered with chaotic symbols such as skulls and spikes, the towering helmet and unique neck guard and facial structure are still visible and visually striking.

Gastrin terminator.

The elite configuration of the Shadowmoon Wolf Company of the Sixteenth Legion during the Great Expedition.

Wow, I never expected to see the orphan of Shadow Moon Wolf in this godforsaken place.

The identity of this Chaos Force is obvious.

The Black Legion of Abaddon, the Chaos Warmaster.

"The War General has also set his sights on the Star God fragments." Deyan looked at the Gastrin Terminator wielding the power halberd and felt utterly bewildered.

This guy is very likely a veteran of countless battles.

Dejan's gaze swept past the Gastrin Terminator and landed on a towering gate, several meters high, its surface shimmering with a mercury-like, eerie green energy, standing at the far end of the council chamber.

The door trembled slightly, and a deep, rhythmic pulse, seemingly capable of resonating with the material world, leaked through the cracks.

"Fragment of the Star God..." Dejan touched the Horlock bracer on his left arm, his heart burning with excitement.

The fragments of the Star God are inside.

If he could possess the full-fledged Horrock's arm guards, his strength would reach another level.

Teleportation!

"Swoosh—Boom!"

With the upper body of the Scorpion Lord melted through and its core energy circuit shattered by the Gastalin Terminator, the struggle of the undead came to an end.

"Quick, open this door!" Gastrin Terminator pointed to the giant door.

The dark mechanical priest behind him immediately stepped forward, connected several data tentacles to the door, and began to brute-force its way through.

We absolutely cannot let them succeed!

Deyang is poised to strike at any moment.

Before the final battle, Malakin Foros handed the gene seed box from his waist to Dejan without hesitation.

Gene seeds containing genetic material are the source of Astartes' power, the key to replenishing manpower, and the foundation for the survival of an Astartes chapter.

Malakin Forros's move was tantamount to entrusting his orphan to a caretaker.

Deyan took the gene seed box and felt an unbearable weight of life emanating from the resolute battle commander before him.

The box was very hot to the touch.

He had always thought the hottest thing he had ever touched was the snow-white skin of his first love when he was 18, but now he knew it wasn't.

"In the name of the Emperor, as long as I can get out of here alive, I will do my utmost to help the Lamenters rebuild their battle group!" Deyan solemnly promised, out of respect for someone who had been betrayed many times but remained loyal.

At that moment, he finally realized the true value of the words "the one who weeps".

Stand up and vanquish evil!

Even if they are abandoned and suspected, they will bleed to their last drop!

Fight for the Empire! Fight for honor!

These are the mourners.

Malakin patted Dejan on the shoulder with a relieved smile.

Deyan knew that the battle group commander was already prepared to die.

Death was not a punishment for him, but a release.

"I will lead men to stop them; you decide what to do."

Even if we can't obtain the Star God Fragment, we can't let it fall into the hands of a traitor.

Malakin knew that it was unrealistic to talk about seizing the Star God fragments at this point.

Containing the fragments of the Star God is a massive undertaking that requires the participation of Sister Silent and the Mechanic, and most importantly, it requires a containment device.

However, the Silent Sister and the Mechanic are both dead, and the containment device was destroyed in the battle.

It is no longer possible to contain the Star God fragments.

However, he was unaware that Dejan possessed an excellent containment device.

"I see!"

"For Saint Gilles, for the Emperor!" Malakin roared in a desperate rage, no longer hiding, and charged out from behind cover. His holy sword shone with a mournful light, disintegrating its field as it hurtled towards the heretics.

The decisive battle erupted!

The remnants of the Weeping Ones, the soldiers of the Anvil Company, the Battle Sisters, the Guardians of the Faith, and Elijah's family guard clashed with the Black Legion, the remnants of the Word Bearers, and the mad demons.

Chainsaw swords clashed with power axes, bombs and lasers flew side by side, and psionic lightning intertwined with chromium flames.

Dejan blasted the Nurgle zombie away with a powerful left-handed volley, and with his right-handed power sword, he slashed the Banshee in half. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed that the tightly closed door had been opened by the Dark Mechanic.

Gastalin Terminator led an elite squad into the fray.
