Chapter 1153 - 913: White Snake Demon of Yingdi Mountain
Chapter 1153 - 913: White Snake Demon of Yingdi Mountain
Huo Jun had no idea how long he’d been asleep. In a daze, he sensed the aura of a Flood Dragon and thought he was dreaming again.
"Heh, where in this world would a dragon come from? I must’ve gone crazy wanting to transform into a dragon..." He smacked his lips, muttered like a sleep-talker, and closed his eyes to keep snoring away.
Bai Yunqi: ...
He’d guessed that with heavy injuries plus hibernation, it wouldn’t be easy to wake him up, so he could only grit his teeth and keep hammering at the Barrier, hoping to trigger a sense of crisis that would snap the other awake.
"Rumbleee~"
The violent tremors once again jolted the sleeping giant serpent awake. He slowly opened his eyes and tried to move his body, and a stabbing pain that sank into his bones washed over him.
Huo Jun looked back and instantly sobered up—two big trees were growing out of his own tail, and here and there between his scales were lush weeds and little saplings sprouting.
This shit was a sign of Scatter-Spirit!
Across the world, whether demon or human, as long as one was a Cultivator who absorbed the essence and Spiritual Energy of heaven and earth, if they suffered grievous wounds that never healed or their Lifespan was nearing its end and their vitality slowly faded, a peculiar phenomenon called Scatter-Spirit would occur.
Those of the wood attribute, when their wood Spiritual Power dispersed, would give rise to flourishing vegetation, and once they completely scattered, their bodies would turn into nourishment for plants; for a long time thereafter, that area would be wreathed in dense Spiritual Energy;
Those of the metal attribute, would turn into ore;
Those of the earth attribute, would turn into mounds of soil; it was said there was once a mighty being who scattered, transforming into tens of thousands of acres of fertile fields to nourish a region of the Human Race;
Those of the water attribute, would turn into a spring;
Those of the fire attribute, would turn into blazing Earth Fire, and might even give birth to an Abnormal Fire.
This was the method by which the Essence of heaven and earth cycled.
Born to grow between heaven and earth, in the end their Spirituality and physical form would once more return to heaven and earth.
However, conflicts between Cultivators were many, and most died unnatural deaths. Even those who scattered did so while in seclusion, so Huo Jun had only ever heard of it and never seen it with his own eyes.
Now, discovering that he himself had actually started to Scatter-Spirit, the threat of death threw his heart into chaos. He had no time at all to care that the ground was shaking and the Barrier was under attack; he needed to save himself!
"My incarnations! Right, where are my incarnations? After all this time they should’ve grown strong enough..."
Huo Jun forced his brain—rusted from sleeping too long—to turn, and muttered anxiously to himself, "Wan Qian? N–no, he’s already dead. He died too suddenly and only managed to send back a tiny portion of Energy;
Jin Ran? No, she died too... What was the name of that later incarnation again?"
He focused on recalling and remembered that the day he condensed that incarnation, he just so happened to see white clouds rising over Yingdi Mountain as all things revived.
His eyes lit up at once. "Hiss... could it be called Bai Fusu (White Revival)? No no, I couldn’t possibly pick such an inauspicious name. Bai, Bai... that’s it, Bai Yunqi (White Rising Clouds)!"
Finally remembering the name of his third incarnation, Huo Jun immediately closed his eyes, calmed his mind, and tried to sense where the other was.
However, he sensed nothing at all, as if that incarnation had vanished into thin air!
It wasn’t a death state, so could he have been sealed and suppressed somewhere? He’d never encountered such a thing before and was momentarily stunned.
Threat of death, an incarnation gone missing, his cave-dwelling’s Array under attack—waking from his slumber, Huo Jun found that everything he had to face was bad news!
"Boom!"
Bai Yunqi attacked the Array again, but still didn’t dare use his full strength.
This Array was tightly linked to Huo Jun. Shaking it was fine, but if it was really broken open, Huo Jun, heavily injured as he was, might get shaken to death on the spot.
But the guy just wouldn’t wake up and was wasting his teacher’s precious time for nothing, which made Bai Yunqi very angry. "You’ve been given a chance here—if you still don’t get up, don’t blame me for throwing you aside!"
"What the hell are you gibbering about out there?" Huo Jun’s head ached as he split off a bit of attention to sense what was happening outside the cave.
Although he didn’t clearly hear what the other was shouting in anger, he felt that this person looked somewhat familiar; the other one, however, was very unfamiliar. There was no Spiritual Power fluctuation at all, full of human scent, like an ordinary mortal.
The slightly familiar one was radiating Flood Dragon aura from head to toe—strange, yet as if he’d seen it somewhere before.
"Who goes there?" He had originally wanted to lie low and wait until these two left his cave before thinking about saving himself.
But seeing how the familiar-looking guy had such a bad temper, banging away at the Array—though holding back his strength—there was no guarantee he wouldn’t get carried away and smash it outright. If the Array broke, he’d be dragged down with it and his situation would go from bad to worse.
So, Huo Jun figured he’d first ask what was going on to buy himself some time.
Finally getting a response, Bai Yunqi pulled back his fist and said loudly, "Huo Jun, you don’t recognize me? I’m Bai Yunqi. Hurry up and open the doors of your cave dwelling and welcome my teacher! It wasn’t easy to secure this great opportunity for you—miss it and you’ll regret it for the rest of your life!"
Eh? What the hell? This is my incarnation?
Huo Jun’s head was full of question marks. No wonder he thought the face looked familiar and the aura seemed like he’d seen it somewhere before... Damn! My incarnation Transformed Flood Dragon?!
So that’s why he hadn’t recognized him and couldn’t sense him? Then can I still devour and refine him to restore my injuries? If not, is this incarnation going to be wasted for nothing?
Shocked and unable to figure it out, Huo Jun again examined those two outside. One claimed to be Bai Yunqi; the other was just a mere mortal, quite young, and didn’t look threatening at all.
What did the incarnation call him again?
Teacher?! And he even said he’d brought a great opportunity—could he be lying to me?
After a brief moment of hesitant struggle, Huo Jun reluctantly activated the Array, opening the gates of the cave dwelling to welcome them in.
"Pa! Pa-pa!"
With a series of crisp pops, what had been a dark, spacious cave in Jiang Yuan’s field of vision changed drastically as the lit-up Array activated—the space that had been hidden by the Array, along with high walls and flying-eaved pavilions, appeared layer by layer.
A moment later, a lazy voice drifted out from within a wide-open, luxurious gate. "Come in."
